After having to rethink my educational philosophy now that I’m not in a public school, I have fallen in love with the Charlotte Mason philosophy. Basically, she’s heavy on discipline, music & art appreciation, literature, and Creation. I feel like my values for teaching and raising our kiddos line right up with hers. So, I found a curriculum and decided to give it a test run this year when we don’t have to officially report anything to the state. We’ll see how it goes, but so far so good!
Judah: practicing identifying the letters in his name and putting them in the correct order (not based on the curriculum…pulling out tricks from my Kindergarten teaching years)
Courben: working on an art project….crayon sculptures. The title of his, “Rocketship.”
In addition to keeping up with the fun stories from our days, my goal is to use this blog as a sort of portfolio and keepsake of what we’ve been working on, as well.
